Recently I’ve been learning to swim
At first it was so I could compete at some fancy CrossFit competition
But as I delve deeper into it, I realised I have a fear of water and very little recollection of learning to swim as a child.
Yeah I did lesson’s but all I remember from those was winning the breath holding competitions. (Typical young boy) This has now come back to bite me in the ass.
Recently I’ve sought out a coach and swim together weekly
This has helped me improve breathing and control my heart rate and be more efficient in the water.
My fear of water is being overturned, and shit it feels good!!
My biggest take away from this was that being a beginner can be hard, bloody hard, but at the same time awesome!
The amount of progress I have achieved in such a short period of time is amazing
Being a beginner is not something to fear, it is something to embrace
When you start something, don’t be afraid of sucking at it…
Get pumped for all the rapid progress you are about to make
Being a beginner is one of the best part of any journey, so what do you want to start, what will the next year of your life be like…
